It's Done! It's Done! It's Done!

Stand up! Wiggle your ears! And do a little dance!

The baby blanket, that I started long ago, is finally D-O-N-E...DONE!

Hooray!

Yippeeeeee!

The incompleteness of this project will no longer linger in the back of my mind, causing knitting stress. It wasn't a difficult knit, just a very long, sometimes tedious one. That doesn't matter now, because it's DONE!

All I have to do is block it!

:o) I'm smiling now! :o)

Winter Twilight Just In Time For Autumn

I finished the socks for my dad!

Here's Jonathan's foot modeling the second sock before I blocked it.

I can't wait to give them to him!

PB&J & Birthday Gifts...Hooray!

Sarah and I enjoyed a fun knitting night yesterday. She ordered the most AMAZING smoothie. It is now my new absolute favorite. It's called PB&J and it tastes just like it too!

Sarah also brought birthday presents for me. And I love every single thing!

Lovely yarns (one is cashmere and the other is handspun wool from a local Ohio farm).

A yarn cutter and cute heart stitch markers!

And a cool tote, just the right size for sock yarn! I've already put my current sock project inside!

Thanks, Sarah!!!!!!!!! Let's get more PB&J soon!

Clearance Sale Yarn

Craft stores have a habit of placing yarn just outside their front doors and sticking a big yellow sign up that says 75% off. Then the thrifty knitter is forced to say, "Well, twist my arm, why don't ya?" So, I purchased a few skeins of discounted Lion Boucle and made a comfy scarf with it.

Nothing fancy, just garter stitch.

In popsicle.

And licorice.

Not A Cloud In The Sky

Jonathan's dad took us out today for some Labor Day fun. He even drove us around in his 1965 Mustang convertible which was a great treat. We ended up at the Schedel Arboretum & Gardens in Elmore, Ohio.

If you like gardens, romantic walks, trees, art or frogs, you'll really like it!

I'll leave you with some pictures to tempt you and have a great Labor Day!

It's kind of hard to tell, but there's a frog on that lily pad!

A Little of This, A Little of That

I thought I'd share a picture of Jonathan's Jade bonsai. He's a bit temperamental (the bonsai, not Jonathan) but we're learning how to take care of him. We've had the bonsai for about two months and so far so good!

On a knitting note:
If you're interested in a fall hat that is charming, whimsical and just plain adorable, click here.
Sarah created a pattern that the whole family can enjoy!

And in Sock News:
I'm about to start working the gusset!
