Sparkly Thumb Of Approval!

The booties were so easy to do I couldn't help but knit another pair! I used the sparkling sock yarn from the first pair of socks I ever made. It's kinda hard to see the sparkles, but they're there. Oh yes, they are there!

Drumroll, please!

I have finished the sweater!
Okay, so it's three months after Christmas, but it's done!!!!!
Hooray! Yippeee! Hallelujah!!!

I used seed stitch for the cuff and bottom edging.

The approving thumbs up.

And last night I started working on another pair of socks for my dad. It's the Thuja pattern that Sarah hearts so much. Now I know why. It's fun, easy and quick! I'm using Tiny Toes yarn from Interlacements.

Booties!

I knit a pair of booties for Brianna. They're a bit big for her right now but babies grow so fast that they'll fit perfect soon enough. I used Cider Moon's Glacier in Winter Twilight. It's the leftover from my dad's socks.

Sarah found the pattern for me on Ravelry. It's called Baby Bootees with Fringe Cast-off. I didn't do the Fringe Cast-off as you can see. The Glacier feels lovely and soft.

Oh, and how I miss Cider Moon. :o(

The pattern is super easy to do and you don't have to sew any seams, so hooray for that!!!

Time Warp

Last Sunday we went for a walk at Side Cut. It was just after Saturday's huge winter storm. I planned to post some of the photos I took but time got away from me...literally!

My husband and I both forgot about Daylight Savings Time and found ourselves stuck exactly one hour behind everyone else. Luckily, Desmond was our constant or we might never have synced up with the future. ;o)

Around 2:30 p.m. DST we finally caught up to everyone else! Of course, we were about an hour late to hang out for knitting and clixing with Sarah and Eric. Oops!

Anyhoo, here are some snowy pics from that day...

I heart blue sky and white snow!

We saw over a dozen deer that day!

Accessorize!

I made the Umbilical Cord Hat from Stitch 'n Bitch for my brand new cousin, Brianna. It's made from some Berroco Comfort I got for Christmas. It's super soft.

And here she is modeling it. What a cutie!

I also made another set of earrings.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Just A Few Bits

We had a beautiful snowfall a few days ago...

...and now the snow is melting away. Sigh.

I've been working diligently on Jonathan's sweater and a scarf to match his hat.

I'm almost finished with the first sleeve of the sweater and I'm feeling really good about it. I had Jonathan try it on a couple of days ago and it fit great, even with his arms all squished inside the body of the sweater. Happy! Happy!

I didn't pick up the knitting needles for most of January and February. I think I needed a bit of a break from the holiday knitting rush. However, the last few days I've been knitting regularly again and it feels fabulous. Of course, now I'm getting all these ideas for projects!!! Is there a class on speed knitting? ;o)

I've also been working with beads and dabbling in jewelry making.

I made these earrings for my mom. They're the color of my birthstone, the peridot.

I also made this crystal window ornament for both my parents. It's based on the seven major chakras.

Okay, I'm headed back into my grotto of creativity. Have a lovely evening!
